During the Super Bowl broadcast, the NFL aired a new commercial with many legendary players as well as current ones. Payton Manning, Jim Brown, Saquon Barkley, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell were amongst the faces we saw throughout what was named this year’s “Best Super Bowl Commercial”.
But the 2 faces that caught my eye were Tom Brady and Baker Mayfield. At one point, Tom removes his 5 (now 6) Super Bowl rings and hands them to Baker, asking him to “hold these”. Several social media posts suggest that this was a sign that Baker Mayfield may become the next GOAT (Greatest of all Time). I have to say that was my first thought…and I wasn’t alone.
Mayfield changed the direction of the Browns franchise during the 2018 season, after leading them to a 7-8-1 record. He threw for 3725 yards and 27 touchdowns, a rookie record. It isn’t crazy to believe that he may have some bling of his own one day.
